About the Item
An elegant French 19th century Transitional st. Tulipwood, Kingwood, ormolu and Brèche d'Alep marble buffet. The three door three drawer buffet is raised by six cabriole legs with fine pierced foliate ormolu sabots below the lovely straight and scalloped apron. At the center are three doors which open to reveal one shelf. Each door is decorated with exceptional quarter veneered panels, also repeated at each side, showcasing the beautiful wood grain framed within delicate intricately inlaid wrap around fillets and displaying charming berried laurel and tied ribbon ormolu keyhole escutcheons. The three drawers are decorated in the same manner while above is the original beautiful Brèche d'Alep marble top with a fine mottled border. All original gilt throughout.
