About the Item

A handsome and most impressive Italian early 18th century Baroque period walnut buffet. The two door two drawer buffet is raised by an elegant scalloped shaped base with block supports and a fine mottled border. At the center are two large doors with remarkable and most decorative recessed panels with wonderfully executed mottled designs and fine central circular brass pulls. Each side panel is also decorated in the same manner. The doors open to reveal the original single shelf and are flanked by reeded panels and finely detailed foliate carvings at each corner. The frieze displays two drawers each centered by a brass pull below a beautiful Rai du Coeur border. Above is the solid walnut top showcasing the warm wood grain. All original hardware and warm patina throughout.
