About the Item

A beautiful 19th century French buffet/ sideboard in cherry wood with rounded bevel-edged, rmarble top resting on a base with one drawer over two cabinet doors. This graceful buffet showcases the stylistic features made popular during the long reign of the French monarch, Louis XV, which include: paneled doors with foliate carved moldings, carved scalloped apron with fan motif, elaborate steel escutcheon plates pulls, and short cabriole legs with scrolled toes. The cherrywood, which is a brown, milk chocolate color; boasts a rich patina acquired over its long 270-year history. France, circa 1750.
