About the Item
A stunning buffet attributed to Dunbar Furniture and designed by Edward Wormley. The piece is identical to the Wormley design but it is missing the Dunbar tag. It matches a sideboard/buffet in a Dunbar catalog. In that catalog it is described as being made of rosewood. The wood does have a reddish tint but I'm not sure it is rosewood. It could be mahogany.
There is also an older auction listing that shows the same piece, complete with a removeable hutch and the Dunbar tag. The piece is beautifully constructed. It has lovely rounded corners and gorgeous hardware. It has 3 shallow drawers at the top over 3 cabinets (6 doors in total). It has amazing storage.
It shows wear consistent with age and light use. There is also some sun fading to the finish. It would look amazing refinished.
