About the Item
Small walnut Renaissance style two-tiered buffet or sideboard, opening with two door leaves in the lower part and one door leaf in the upper part, two drawers in the middle. The whole ensemble stands on four legs with the front set-off and decorated with swirls and masks.
Set-off side uprights richly carved with masks, garlands and acanthus leaves.
The two drop leaves open on a shelf while the upper drawers can be opened with a winged lion handle.
Decorative register inherited of the Renaissance, such as grotesques, swirls, acanthus leaves, cornucopia, chimeras, cherub and portraits in oval medals.
Good condition, consistent with age and use.
Work of Napoleon III period, 19th century.
