About the Item

This fantastic Swedish baker's cabinet is a versatile addition to any space. Crafted in the 19th century, the buttery yellow painted case retains its original charcoal marble top (likely turquin blue) that is now very well patinated. Within the apron is a single, wide drawer using a pair of oval ring pulls to open. Unlocking the paneled doors enclosing the storage compartment reveals two removable shelves in the usual fashion of a baker's table with the ability to fully slide out - sometimes called "baker boards". The interior shelves are not original but match the antique finish well. Over the decades this cabinet has gained a wonderful patina to be an inviting and approachable storage piece for a kitchen, dining room, or shop.
