About the Item

A stunning Chinese tapered cabinet from the 18th century, black lacquered with original gilt chinoiserie motifs. Created in China during the Qing dynasty using solid Elm wood with black lacquered finish and adorned with gilt chinoiserie motifs on the front door panels. These paintings has fadede over time giving the cabinet a naturally beautiful natural age-related patina. Two doors with a removable middle stile, so that large items can be stored inside. Beautiful original condition. Shanxi province, early 18th century.
