About the Item
A beautifully timeworn primitive cabinet with a strong wabi-sabi presence, raised on distinctive sledge feet—a feature often found in earlier vernacular furniture. Built from thick, wide planks with a deep, authentic patina, the surface shows honest age: visible grain, shrinkage lines, old cracks, and wear consistent with long use.
The cabinet has two separate doors (upper and lower) with hand-forged iron strap hinges and simple round knobs. At some point in its life the doors were rehung in reverse; we have since returned them to what appears to be their original orientation, allowing the cabinet to present as it was intended while preserving its historic character. Inside, a fixed shelf creates two practical storage compartments—ideal as a small pantry cupboard, bathroom cabinet, or entryway storage in a calm, minimal interior.
Condition
Good antique condition consistent with age and use. Expected surface wear, marks, old splits/cracks, irregularities, and patina to the wood and ironwork. Doors were previously rehung and have been returned to the presumed original orientation. Structurally solid and stable. Please review photos for details.
