About the Item
Japanese antique 2 tier mid size Mizuya tansu chest with 3 drawers. Almost fully made of premium quality Keyaki (zelkova) solid wood boards.
The product of circa 1900s to 1930 (late Meiji to early Showa period).
Structural lumbers are faceted and partly curved, The panels for the sliding doors have wavy grains.
Beside each 2 tiers, the bottom flame part to attach the bottom of the lower tier as a kind of legs, for the reinforcement and ventiration. It's traditionally attached only for the quality Tansu furnitures. However, the bottom of the lower tier are solid, so can use without the bottom flame part as well.
Both top board of upper
lower tiers are tough enough for putting something on it. so can be used both vertically stacked
place side by side.
Each sliding doors
drawers open
close smoothly. it's still durable enough for actual use.
