About the Item
New finds from Kura (the traditional style warehouse) of old established tea shop in Ibaraki pref., Japan.
This Mizuya tansu is made from premium quality, reddish Sugi Cedar, the product of circa 1900s to 1930 (late Meiji to early Showa period).
The structural parts are made of the thick lumbers, it's still tough enough for actual use.
There used to be sliding doors for each tier's front side, but had lost at some time in the past - but a result is, this simple and minimalistic look with warmth of the wood.
The height are same in upper
lower tier, and both top board are tough enough for putting something on it, so can be used both vertically stacked
place side by side.
