These three walnut cabinets from 1970s Italy have a strong and unusual shape that immediately stands out. The most noticeable element is the rounded top – like a half-cylinder or an arch cut in half. This curved top gives the cabinets a softer, more sculptural look, almost like small architectural structures. The bodies of the cabinets are tall and slightly tapered, getting a bit wider at the bottom. This adds stability but also makes them feel more grounded. As the cabinets have a slightly different layout – one with full drawers combined with doors and one with a glass-fronted display – they avoid looking too uniform. When seen together, the repeating arch form at the top links them, creating a kind of visual harmony, but the small differences keep it interesting. The walnut wood adds warmth and a sense of craftsmanship. The grain is expressive, and the tone of the wood fits the 1970s feeling - natural, honest, a bit earthy.
