The glazed upper cabinet features two doors with diamond muntins, opening to reveal a striking interior in deep brown-red paint, fitted with adjustable shelves. Below, the slanted writing flap conceals compartments for correspondence and documents, while four graduated drawers provide ample storage. The secretary retains its original polished brass hardware and keys, enhancing both function and authenticity.
The dark-painted pinewood, enriched with timeworn patina, underscores the Victorian taste for bold contrasts and historic character.
