About the Item
A very fine 19th century Satinwood side cabinet in the Neoclassical style, of arc-en-arbalette form, rising from six carved elegant legs, the central bow fronted door centred by a neoclassical scene with floral highlights which opens to reveal a mahogany interior with a single shaped serpentine shelf, the flanking side panels having central cartouches depicting neoclassical urns with floral highlights. The single central drawer also mahogany lined above a top having half rounded central back panel with ebony outline stringing within a border of polychrome hand painted decoration in the style of Angelica Kauffman.

Co to be such a huge success. With his skills in business, by the 1880s they were the largest furniture store in the world as they exported their fine antique furniture to many different countries and were well known throughout the interiors world.
