About the Item

A beautiful 18th-century German baroque armoire or cabinet with two doors. It was made from solid European summer oak to last for generations, it features an intricate geometric design and spacious storage inside. It originates in the region Nortrein Westphalen and was made around the 1720s. The molding is attached to the surface by the use of wooden pens that are also visible on the back of the doors. The hinges, lock, and key are original to the cabinet. The cabinet has three and a half fixed interior shelves. The cupboard originally came in a stain and wax finish. It has been carefully stripped of its wax layers and was skillfully restored in our workshop. The lock was now working upon arrival. The internal spring was renewed and it is fully functional now for many years to come. The feet and solid oak back cladding were renewed a few decades ago and are also in great condition. The cabinet has a beautiful rustic appearance and great bare wood color. It is fully functional and ready for use.
