About the Item
This 19th century French vitrine cabinet is done in a one door, Bombay shaped formed walnut Louis XV style. The vitrine is decorated with detailed and elaborate cast gilt bronze figural mounts and intricate gilt bronze borders showcasing parquetry panels on three sides. The interior of the cabinet is lined in a muted green silk material with a cream floral motif. There are three glass shelves in the serpentine glass 'showcase' component of this cabinet, and a lower 'hidden' storage area behind the paneled front door. The back of this cabinet is done in raised panels of a secondary wood. This vitrine comes complete with the original key and the locking mechanism works as intended.
