About the Item
Large-format retail showcase constructed in quarter-sawn oak with expansive glass panels and a deep, paneled storage base. The case is designed for maximum visibility from all sides, with tall glass walls, a glazed top, and clean vertical mullions that emphasize length and proportion. Subtle carved detailing along the upper cornice adds refinement without distracting from the display area, while the warm oak finish grounds the piece in classic American commercial furniture tradition. Inside, adjustable shelving is supported by original japanned metal brackets, allowing for flexible configuration depending on the objects displayed-jewelry, instruments, collectibles, or general merchandise.
The lower cabinet base provides substantial concealed storage via drop-front compartments, a feature commonly used in high-end retail and institutional settings to house inventory, tools, or packaging materials directly beneath the display surface. Each set of rear doors is fitted with its own lock, underscoring the case's original commercial purpose and security-conscious design. The interior has been refreshed with new felt panels installed in our shop, maintaining period-appropriate presentation while offering a clean, finished surface ready for use.
Excellent condition overall. The oak shows minimal wear with a well-preserved finish. Glass panels are clean with only light, typical surface marks. The japanned shelf brackets retain their finish. New felt panels have been professionally installed in the base. Locks function as intended, and one original key is included.
