About the Item
An extraordinary antique bridal armoire, personally one of my favorites currently on offer. This piece of furniture dates from 1809 and comes from Franconia, southern Germany. The armoire is painted with a colorful striped motif throughout and features floral decorations in the panels. The wedding date: 1809, is inscribed above the doors. Naturally, there are some minor signs of wear, although the armoire is still in good condition considering its age. For example, a section of the back was once replaced, and some occasional woodworm holes can be seen. These have, of course, been checked and treated. The armoire still has its original layout, consisting of two shelves with hooks. If desired, more shelves or a rod can easily be added. The doors can be neatly locked with an old lock and key. In the past, it was customary to give bridal furniture like this to the couple at a wedding. These pieces were later placed in a state room on the farm, rarely used for important guests or special occasions. A beautiful and decorative piece of history. This cabinet can be disassembled into two parts for transport.

- Condition:Repaired: Piece of backside has been replaced. Wear consistent with age and use. Although the item displays signs of use and beautifully weathered paint, it has been thoroughly inspected/restored and is ready for daily use, all while preserving its unique character.
