About the Item
Beautiful antique pine bridal cabinet. This cabinet originates from southern Germany and dates from around 1850. It has been restored and repainted at some point, though in the original way and using traditional craftsmanship. The colorful floral panels and the soft pink marbled paintwork throughout give the piece a very rustic and romantic appearance. The cabinet is medium-sized and has shelves inside. The doors can be locked with a lock and key. Minor signs of wear consistent with its age are visible, though nothing out of the ordinary. It was once customary to give bridal furniture like this to the couple at a wedding. These pieces were later placed in a state room on the farm, rarely used for distinguished guests or special occasions. A beautiful and decorative piece of history. Despite the later paintwork on this piece, the cabinet's appearance is on par with other pieces. This makes it attractively priced for the customer.
