This is an antique pedestal cabinet. An English, flame mahogany and marble nightstand cupboard, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1850.
Of unusual and fascinating form, a treat for the bedside or lounge
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
Select flame stocks present striking grain interest
Rich russet hues beam beneath a wax polish finish
Cool, tactile white marble plinth top with a diameter of 39cm (15.25")
The decagon body crafted in the manner of a fluted column
Accessed by a concealed lever, the door opens to reveal two shelves
The whole standing upon a deep octagonal foot
This is a superb antique pedestal cabinet, with an appealing and unusual column form. The rich flame stocks present beautifully, whilst the interior offers generous storage for the bedside or favourite spirits. Solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
