About the Item
c. 1910s-1920s; Jac. Lederer, Inc. - Chicago, IL
Large quarter-sawn oak display case produced by Peerless Store Fixtures, featuring a framed glass top and front with mirrored interior panels and rich golden finish. The case retains its original red-and-gold Peerless maker's tag and showcases the company's emphasis on high-quality, furniture-grade retail cabinetry designed for jewelry, dry goods, or apothecary displays. Constructed with a robust oak frame, this model includes sliding rear access doors, a functional lower drawer, and an updated blue felt-lined interior. The mirrored panels along the back interior-typical of upscale turn-of-the-century presentation cases-create depth and luminosity for displayed merchandise.
Peerless Store Fixtures of Chicago, founded in the early 1900s, was known for producing finely made cabinetry and showcases for department stores and jewelers across the Midwest.
