About the Item

Rare baroque cabinet with a trompe-l’œil design: the two-door lower section and two-door upper section are visually conceived to resemble a commode. The upper portion is crowned by a small drawer flanked by scrolling volute decorations. Striking fire-gilt bronze mounts in flowing, asymmetrical leaf forms adorn the façade. Crafted in walnut with elaborate veneers and delicate marquetry, the interior features shelving lined with decorative paper. Carefully restored and hand-polished.
