Creativity often begins with exploration. The Ikat Cabinet motif started as a photograph—then evolved into a painting, a rug design, and finally, a study in wood marquetry. Through each iteration, the motif transformed into a modern interpretation of Ikat, a pattern rooted in the rich textile traditions of Indonesia and first introduced to European design in the early 1900s.
