About the Item

This 18th century Swiss chest of drawers is a fine example of high end craftsmanship from that period. The chest features a bombe shape and a stunning black marble top. Drawer fronts are inlaid with contrasting wood veneer in a geometric pattern. Two large drawers are flanked by four small drawers on either side - an element that makes this piece highly unique. Each drawer is fitted with intricate brass escutcheons and handles featuring shell and foliate motifs. Standing on delicately curved cabriole legs and featuring skirts with a scalloped design, this chest of drawers has a finessed elegance that will be a striking addition to any interior.
