Crafted from elmwood and finished in deep cinnabar lacquer, this ceremonial chest features original hand-forged brass hardware with intricate floral and bat motifs — symbols of prosperity and happiness in Chinese culture. The front is decorated with subtle hand-painted details and a round brass lock plate, traditionally symbolizing unity and harmony in marriage. Inside, a spacious compartment offers ample storage, originally intended for storing a bride's dowry and precious heirlooms.
