About the Item
This iconic piece of furniture is Kartell's Componibili, an Italian design classic created by Anna Castelli Ferrieri in 1967.
It is a system of cylindrical container modules made of ABS plastic, designed to be functional, versatile and aesthetically appealing. The minimalist design and curved lines make it perfect for any room, from the bedroom to the living room to the bathroom or office.
The distinctive feature of this model is its sliding doors with a round hole, which allow the contents to be kept hidden without weighing down the aesthetics. Modularity is another strength: modules can be stacked to fit different space requirements.
Over time, the Componibili became an icon of industrial design, so much so that it was exhibited at MoMA in New York and the Centre Pompidou in Paris. The piece in the photo appears to have an ivory or cream finish, an elegant variation that fits well with modern, retro interiors.
The cabinet has some minor stains and signs of time, as shown in the photos.
