Danish Mid-Century Rosewood Gentleman's Dresser Cabinet by Axel S. Albeck, 1950s
Stunning rosewood cabinet with two hinged doors and eight drawers with hand carved sculptural pulls. Made in Denmark in the 1950s by master carpenter Axel S. Albeck, Copenhagen, Denmark.
Outstanding quality and craftsmanship can be seen in every detail of this Scandinavian Mid-Century Modern piece. The drawers have hand cut dovetail joints front and back and handcrafted organic pulls. The inside of the cabinet is done in light ashwood, and the shelves are height adjustable. A matching felt lined tray is included. Front, top and sides in stunning expressive bookmatched rosewood veneer. A luxurious piece from the height of the Danish Mid-Century master carpenters of Copenhagen.
This rare cabinet is suitable as a gentleman's wardrobe, linen cupboard or office cabinet. Whichever purpose this cabinet will serve, it will certainly do so in spectacular style and elegance.
Makers mark on the back. Key included.
Very good original vintage condition with only light patina consistent with age and use. Few small nicks and scratches and a small repair around one keyhole. Cleaned and re-polished, ready for use.
