A FINE EARLY VICTORIAN BIRDS-EYE MAPLE AND AMARANTH INLAID SIDE CABINET, CIRCA 1850.
The interior with its original dusty pink velvet lining. The finely chased ormolu escutcheons also original.
Labelled Ivry Patamau from Queen Mary, 1942.
Provenance
Queen Mary (1867-1963)
by whom given in 1942 to Ivry Patamau, housekeeper at Badminton;
thence by descent.
Queen Mary was evacuated to Badminton (home of her niece) for the duration of the war.
