About the Item

A fabulous quality 19th century French Japanese style shodona, finely inlaid with mother of pearl of the highest quality depicting various oriental patterns, flowers and butterflies etc and including ancient verses, the top having delicate carved pierced fret work, the middle section in the typical Japanese style with a mythical dragon looking out, various cupboards, drawers and open shelves with further pierced fretwork gallery, standing on a platform base with claw feet. The cabinet is in excellent condition and has a lovely rich warm colour. Circa 1880.
