George III Mahogany Vanity Stand
Early 19th Century, English
An elegant and finely crafted George III mahogany vanity stand dating from the early 19th century. The stand features a stunning rich mahogany finish and a beautifully proportioned design, typical of the period. The top opens via two hinged flaps, offering ample space for vanity or washing accoutrements, while the central mirror, which slides upwards, adds functionality and charm to the piece.
The front features a single door with a drawer beneath for additional storage. The stand is supported by four square, tapering legs, with a gracefully shaped platform at the base—characteristic of George III period furniture.
The quality brass handles and hinges complement the classic design, ensuring a cohesive and sophisticated look. In very good condition, this vanity stand has been polished to maintain its original patina and appearance, with no major signs of wear.
