About the Item

Large and handsome antique French 2-part vitrine cabinet / tallboy, with a display section and lower part with painted wooden doors, and adjustable wooden shelves and drawers. This display case was originally a bookcase, and is from around 1890, with original glass from the time, as well as a beautiful newer black, and lovely sea blue hue within. All paintwork as wonderful patina especially inside. The vitrine section has three shelves included. For easier transport purposes, this impressive piece is divided into two sections. This antique painted-wood cabinet from France has a shallow break-front design along the front, with a stack molded cornice with fluted carvings beneath. This is a stunning antique French louis XV Revival Vernis Martin display cabinet, circa 1880 in date. The cabinet feature a shaped top with impressive ornate ormolu mounts, the body is serpentine shaped with a glazed ormolu mounted door that features a fantastic Vernis Martin hand painted panel of a courting couple, with the two side panels depicting country scenes.
