Impressive Boulle Style Ebonised and Brass Inlaid Display Vitrine, 20th Century
A striking vintage Boulle-style display cabinet, mid-to-late 20th century, echoing the grandeur of the Napoleon III period. Crafted in ebonised wood and intricately inlaid throughout with engraved brass and red tortoiseshell-effect panels in the manner of André-Charles Boulle.
The piece is of architectural breakfront form with a pronounced pagoda cornice, arched twin glazed doors, and mirrored interior fitted with two glass shelves. Mounted with ormolu-style classical figures and raised on turned bun feet.
