About the Item
This is an old large Tansu made in Japan.
This furniture was made during the Meiji period (1860s-1900s).
The material used is cedar wood. The iron metal fittings in the center add an austere and tight accent to the simple design.
The linear and lean form of this piece evokes a sense of “simplicity” that is uniquely Japanese.
Its powerful yet understated appearance quietly tightens the space and blends naturally with contemporary interiors.
The interior is more spacious than one might imagine, and the abundant storage capacity is a major attraction of this Tansu.
The upper shelves are removable, allowing for flexibility according to what you need to store.
The sliding door opens and closes very smoothly and can be used on a daily basis without stress.
It has been cleaned, so you can be assured of a hygienic environment.
This furniture has a natural flavor born of the passage of time and the spirit of “wabi-sabi,” or the Japanese traditional Japanese aesthetic.
This is a special piece of furniture with an understated yet solid presence.
Weight: approx. 80 kg

Our Philosophy
Objects always tell the truth.
All I can do is just to face with them sincerely and give
them deep affection as much as I can.
There is no boundary of nationalities and of eras in beauty.
But I think now is the time we choose 'Japanese style' and it
will be the best way to remind us of what we are losing
today and to question us about an essence of beauty again.
I hope that you can touch the memories which the objects here have,
feel and think of something invisible but exists undoubtedly.
