About the Item

This is an old Japanese cabinet from the Tohoku region around the Meiji period. The frame and drawer fronts are made of chestnut wood, featuring beautiful grain. The doors have a simple design with evenly spaced vertical bars, making them a perfect fit for modern spaces. After years of use next to the hearth, soot has developed a natural black color. Scratches and other changes over time further enhance the harmony of the cabinet, giving it a unique presence. Placing it in an inorganic space will create a contrast, creating a more sophisticated atmosphere. In addition to being used as a cabinet, it can also be used as a sideboard to display vases and ceramics. The internal shelves are fixed. There is a slight dent in the base panel due to warping, but this does not affect its use. The gradual changes that occur over the years of careful use create a harmonious, natural beauty that cannot be replicated with paint. This is a unique, irreplaceable piece. Weight: 45.3 kg
