About the Item
Large Neoclassical Style Gilt and Painted Credenza with Simulated Marble Top
A striking and architecturally modelled neoclassical-style credenza of impressive scale, featuring a painted carcass enriched with applied gilt plaster ornamentation and a substantial simulated marble top and base.
The façade is articulated by three cupboard doors, each fitted with gathered black fabric panels, framed within detailed gilt mouldings and flanked by fluted Ionic columns with enriched capitals. A continuous gilt cornice runs the full width of the piece, adding a strong architectural presence and reinforcing the classical proportions.
The interior reveals three generous compartments with fixed shelving, finished in a contrasting pale green, providing practical storage for books, decorative objects or tableware while retaining the dramatic exterior appearance.
Designed as a statement decorative piece for a film studio, the credenza draws on classical architectural forms and Louis XVI-inspired neoclassicism, making it ideally suited to grand residential interiors, boutique hotels or sophisticated commercial spaces.
