About the Item

This late seventeenth century French Louis XIV period walnut cabinet features a Saint Anne marble top and solid paneled sides. A single symmetrical paneled door at the front opens to reveal an interior with a single shelf and two lower drawers. A secret compartment is hidden behind the drawers, and two additional hidden compartments are found under a false bottom when all of the drawers are removed. An ideal piece for use beside a bed or between two chairs. c. 1700.
