About the Item

A Chinese late Qing Dynasty period side cabinet from the early 20th century with two drawers, two doors and custom reddish black lacquer. Created in China during the late Qing Dynasty period in the early years of the 20th century, this side cabinet features a rectangular top with central board and beveled edges, sitting above a perfectly organized façade. Two drawers, fitted with brass hardware, are followed by two doors. These doors showcase carved panels and open thanks to ornate brass plates to reveal two inner shelves offering convenient storage opportunities. The façade is also adorned with carved motifs separating the doors from the drawers and from the carved panels in the lowest section. The sides present carved panels and the back is simply planked with a dark stain. The cabinet is raised on four short feet with scrolling accents in the front. It has been newly and professionally refinished with a reddish back lacquer complimenting the lines beautifully. With its elegant silhouette and profound dark finish, this Chinese late Qing Dynasty period side cabinet circa 1900 will make for a great addition to any home, placed in a living room, bedroom or hallway.
