This glamorous cabinet, dating from the 1970s, has a compact geometric shape that is at once simple and assertive. Yet the essence lies in the bamboo's geometry, giving it its rhythm, luxury, and unmistakable presence. The bamboo strips are laid in a herringbone-like pattern, forming a play of diagonals across the flat planes. The corners of the cabinet are marked by brass fittings, small yet deliberate accents that add a touch of luxury to the piece. The deep red color adds character and depth to the sideboard. Italian design of that decade often celebrated bold material choices, surface experimentation, and an unapologetic embrace of luxury – think of Gabriella Crespi and Willy Rizzo.
