A Fine Pair of French 19th-Century Louis XV-style Marquetry and Gilt-Bronze Mounted Meuble d'Appui Side-Cabinets with marble tops. Each single-door satinwood veneer side cabinet is centered with a marquetry design featuring a vase with a floral arrangement, surmounted by ornate floral and acanthus ormolu mounts. The cabinets include a pierced floral ormolu apron and an allegorical gilt-bronze mount at the bottom, depicting a pair of cherubs holding a flame and a sand-glass next to a bird; fitted with a later light-beige marble tops. (Refinished). Circa 1870-1880.

A truly impressive and great quality pair of side cabinets, the bodies, recently completely refinished and restored. Tops are later. Ormolu is finely chased with all original untouched gilt.
