About the Item

Wardrobe dimensions: Height: 178 cm Width: 121 cm Depth: 58 cm Chest of drawers dimensions: Height: 119 cm Width: 121 cm Depth: 58 cm This unique set of two Bauhaus cabinets originates from Czechoslovakia from the 1930s and is a masterpiece attributed to the architect Hermann John Hagemann for the renowned manufacturer Mücke Melder - Fryštát. The set consists of one wardrobe (clothing cabinet) and one drawer cabinet, both crafted from unique Ovangkol exotic wood veneer, which boasts an exceptionally striking and decorative grain. The cabinets are framed by elegant profiles of tubular chrome-plated steel. The cabinet plinth is made of chromed sheet metal, which visually lightens the massive bodies. The drawers are constructed from a combination of solid beech wood and plywood, ensuring their sturdiness and durability. The entire set has been restored. The wood features a revived original polish, and the chrome has been professionally cleaned. This set is the ideal choice for those seeking representative and functional storage space with high collectors value. It has been re-polished with polyutherane piano lacquer by our professional refurbishing team in Czechia according to the original process. This item features classic Bauhaus design elements. Elements of this style are neutral colors and occasional bright primary colors. Bauhaus designers avoided the fussy and pretentious, looking for clean, modern lines. Perfect for a timeless yet modern look.
