About the Item
Pierre Decorse organic sculptural olive burl wood side cabinet. French. Signed and dated. 2003.
The cabinet has a strong sculptural character, with natural voids and bark inclusions transforming inherent imperfections into defining aesthetic elements. It is a unique piece, with organic and wabi-sabi influence.
The top and the rounded body are hand carved from a single mass of olive wood, resting on four squat legs, lending the piece a grounded yet elevated presence.
There is no handle for the door - as you can see in the video, it opens neatly when the latch is turned.
Overall in very good condition, and very solid. The bark inclusions are all secure.
This sculptural bedside cabinet exemplifies Pierre Decorse’s (b.1953) commitment to organic form and material integrity.
