About the Item

A Chinese Qing Dynasty period two-toned ningbo cypress and rosewood cabinet from the 19th century, with brass hardware. Created in China during the Qing Dynasty in the 19th century, this tall cabinet features a linear silhouette perfectly complimented by a two-toned finish. Made of ningbo cypress and rosewood, the cabinet showcases two doors made of slightly recessed panels surrounded by a lighter frame. Fitted with elongated brass hardware including ornate pulls on etched backplates, these doors open to reveal inner shelves, a long hidden drawer and a lower compartment concealed under a lift-up board. The cabinet is raised on four straight legs connected to a darker toned apron in the front, while the sides each present a simpler apron boasting the same color than the rest of the panel. The back showcases a more distressed finish. Adorned with three carved panels in its lower section, the cabinet is accented with semi circular motifs securing the thin wooden hinges. With its clean lines and complimenting colors, this Qing Dynasty 19th century ningbo cypress and rosewood cabinet will bring an undeniable touch of elegance to any home, whether placed in a living room or bedroom.
