About the Item

Important ‘Bibol’ Cabinet in Burl veneer on oak structure with ivory details. This display cabinet has two solid side doors, one glass door, and three drawers in the lower part. It has a lateral scroll foot resting on a rectangular base, with the frame, lock entries, and pull handles in ivory. Upon request, the ivory details can be replaced with a vegetable ivory substitute. Designed by Ruhlmann, edited by Porteneuve. Stamped. Reference number 2042AR and 2335NR in the Ruhlmann Archives, Musée des Années 30, Boulogne Billancourt. Émile-Jacques Ruhlmann (1879-1933) was a French furniture designer and interior decorator and one of the most important and influential figures of the Art Deco movement, even considered by some the godfather of French Art Deco. His designs are characterized through elegance and purity of form, made with precious materials and expert craftsmanship, combining luxuriousness with modernity.
