About the Item
Antique bridal cabinet dating from 1818, originating from southern Germany. Its heavy, weathered character and original paintings give it a stunning appearance. Both the cabinet's design and the painting are simple and primitive, yet authentic and a typical example of regional folk art. The cabinet is decorated with floral and striped motifs. Another striking detail is the carved ornament on the crest.
The cabinet has been completely inspected and professionally restored, with an eye for originality and character. The construction is solid, the painting is worn but preserved, and the patina has been retained. The interior consists of one drawer and a later added rod. The cabinet can be locked with the original, working lock. Note that the eye of the key has a crack, but it is still sturdy and can be used without any problems. Old, sporadic woodworm spores have been checked and treated. The cabinet can be disassembled for transport.
