A Spanish Walnut Vargueno with Base, 18th Century Provenance: Private Australian Collection. Description: Fitted with cast-iron mounts, the square section centred with large escutcheon, the locking mechanism slightly off centre to right, with two pendant drop handles flanking. Hinges decorated with triad shell motifs, the fall-front opening downward to reveal interior with an arrangement of short and long drawers. The Vargueno sitting on a base with iron stretcher.
