About the Item

A unique lacquered paper cabinet on gilt bronze bamboo stand, designed by Studio Glithero for Gallery Fumi, London. Labelled. Les French Series 1. Circa 2010. Delivery is INCLUDED in the price for all areas in MAINLAND England Wales. Free delivery is restricted to ground and first floor, unless there is a lift the item can fit in. There is an additional charge of £12 per floor for delivery above the first floor via the stairs. The stand is first constructed in bamboo and wax before being direct cast entirely in bronze using the lost material casting process, rendering each piece unique. The cabinet is of un-uniform shape and constructed in layers of paper strips with a lacquered finish, and bronze pull handles. The cabinet has some signs of use to the corner edges where the bronze stand meets, to note. There have been some pads added to the underside, presumably to keep the cabinet more stable in the stand, so as to not mark the cabinet. The lower drawer slightly scuffs the bronze frame when opening. Studio Glithero is the collaboration of Dutch designer, Sarah van Gameren and British designer, Tim Simpson. Their works are at the Design Museum in London, the Design Tide in Tokyo and the renowned Nilufar Gallery in Milan. The width and depth are the widest points to the bronze frame. Delivery is INCLUDED in the price for all areas in MAINLAND England Wales.
