About the Item

These beautiful cabinets are designed in the style of furniture produced in England in the Georgian period (1714-circa 1830-1837). The Georgian style is characterised by its restrained and elegant use of neoclassical forms and motifs. The cabinets are of tall rectangular form. They feature flat tops with banded edges and friezes which are painted with red and green stylised palmettes and lotus leaves. Each cabinet contains five graduated drawers with cut-out handles. These drawers are positioned behind closed doors which are decorated with beautiful marquetry designs. These feature classical urns which are draped with foliage and positioned above stylised palmettes and acanthus leaf motifs on plinths. The doors are lockable and the keys are tied with light-blue fabric tassels. The cabinets stand on short bases.
