About the Item

Beautiful two-door Teak cabinet 'China' model 232 with fully adjustable drawers and two shelves. It includes the original brass details and keys. Slightly faded makers stamp on the back of the cabinet. Børge Mogensen (1914–1972) was one of Denmark’s most influential furniture designers and a key figure in the Danish Modern movement. Trained as a cabinetmaker and later at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Mogensen was dedicated to creating functional, timeless, and affordable furniture for everyday life. He led the design studio for FDB before establishing his own studio in 1950. Among his most iconic pieces are the Spanish Chair, the 2213 Sofa, and the J39 “People’s Chair.” Mogensen’s designs are celebrated for their simplicity, use of quality materials, and enduring appeal, shaping global perceptions of Scandinavian design.
