About the Item

A nice example of a heavily carved wooden three drawer chest or cabinet in its original finish, most likely walnut, with figural carved drawer fronts, carved face escutcheons, foliate carved corners and borders, and adorned with front paw feet. The chest comes with a locking key and the drawers are wallpaper lined. Probably Italian in origin, dating to the 17th or 18th century, in very good overall condition, with some edge repairs and restorations, back foot losses, shrinkage cracks, and wear commensurate with age and use.
