About the Item
Japanese antique large cabinet, tansu chest of drawers in the vein of Kusuri dansu (Medicine / apothecary chest).
Product of late Edo to early Meiji era (1850s-1890s), estimate from the style
conditions.
There're big, iconic iron carrying handles on both sides - the shape is unique and seems older, the square holes are for the lumber to fit in when carrying Tansu.
It's still durable enough for actual use.

Small 15 drawers - w 6.49 in / h 3.93 in / d 11.02 in (w 165mm / h 100mm / d 280mm)
Large 12 drawers - w 10.43 in / h 6.69 in / d 12.4 in (w 265mm / h 170mm / d 315mm) * one of them has inner lining by tin plates.
