About the Item
Antique mid-size tansu with 4 drawers - product of Meiji to Taisho period (estimate 1868-1926).
Made with traditional woodworking jointly without metal fastener.
Finished with black urushi lacquer - it's original, remains in good condition. Urushi color looks different by the dimention
amount of the light.
Smooth opening
closing operation for all drawers.
Minor surface loss near the corner of the upper-right drawer panel is original, intentionally selected material for the panel (the "loss" area is urushi-lacquered because of that).
It gives gentle impression, as well as Wabi Sabi element of this Tansu.
